Volunteer Coordinator – Mental Health


 Help people to gain better mental health, and improve the quality of their lives.


  • A position (Maternity Leave) has become available at the Community Services Mind Volunteer Program (PALS); located in Rosanna service working part-time working 22.8 hours per week, fixed term until March 2018 (with provision for early termination).


In this role you will:

  • Provide services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice and according to the values of Mind

  • Manage the intake and exit processes for volunteers, ensuring compliance with organisational and national guidelines.

  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical services to offer 1:1 support for clients identified as suitable and overseeing the matching of volunteer and client Promote the benefits of volunteering within the community

  • Deliver training and orientation for volunteers

  • Provide regular support and monitoring of volunteer activity


You will bring the following skills to the role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the impact of serious mental ill-health and recovery and well-being and capacity to work with people with multiple support needs. A positive attitude to the work

  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles and issues of working with and supporting volunteers.

  • Ability to work with individuals, groups and families and carers of people with mental health issues. Innovate and think outside of the square

  • Challenge yourself and others within the team

  • Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving
